A wonderful road brought us together as a team. We couldn't have found better people to work with.
Meet the four women behind the scenes of Everything Reptile(.org). Each person brings their own experience, knowledge, and varying interests to this venture and came together in their shared passion for reptiles to create this site to assist other owners, hobbyists, and enthusiasts.

Amanda and her husband Kim live in New York. As of this writing they live with their 11 bearded dragons and 2 geckos. Most, though not all of the bearded dragons are rescues at varying levels of recovery, some with permanent physical disabilities and special needs.  In August of 2011, Amanda and Kim got their first reptiles, 2 juvenile bearded dragons, who were ill with early signs of MBD and had severe respiratory infections from poor husbandry. In their debilitated condition it took months of vet visits and meds for them to recover. Amanda spent countless hours of research looking for answers on proper care frustrated at all of the contradictory information to be found. Consulting with experts, joining forums where  the experienced keepers give valid advice and having an expert reptile vet who teaches her something new at every visit ignited a passion for rescuing these beautiful and gentle creatures. The desire to share  accurate information for excellence in care was born. DragonHeart Rescue and Sanctuary is run in their home at present. Amanda is happy to be a part of this group of amazing women who rescue with the desire to educate on the safe and proper care of reptiles.

kelly  carello

Kelly lives in Pennsylvania with her husband Joe, her two bearded dragons, one green anole, two mini long-haired dachshunds, and 4 rescue kitties. Her granddaughter sparked her interest in reptiles after she brought home a green anole while vacationing with her grandma and grandpa. While researching and purchasing the proper equipment for the green anole, Kelly fell in love with bearded dragons. In August of 2011, Kelly acquired her first bearded dragon, Puff, and realized just how special and wonderful these reptiles are. In July 2012 she adopted her second bearded dragon, Deuce. In learning about the proper care of these reptiles by researching and speaking with experts, Kelly realized that there should be an easier way to get all the correct, reliable information you need,,,,in one place. Education is the key to proper care and healthy happy reptiles, That is why she is so thrilled to be working with these other amazing women to help create just that place.

lauren O'Brien

Lauren lives in Massachusetts with three bearded dragons, three crested geckos, a hognose snake, as well as a variety of furred, four-legged critters. Her passion for reptiles started in the early spring of 2012 and she brought her first one home, a bearded dragon named Fuego, on April 1st 2012. Since then, she has jumped into rescue and rehabilitation work with reptiles and has successfully treated and re-homed two animals (a bearded dragon and a leopard gecko) and is in the planning stages of starting her own small-scale gecko rescue, The Gecko Sanctuary.

She blogs about her life with her scaled family members at beardielife.blogspot.com

shannon  hernandez

Shannon lives in Florida with her husband Otto and numerous reptiles including bearded dragons, rankins dragons, blue tongue skinks, a savannah monitor, a leopard gecko, uromastyx, a curly tailed lizard, green anoles and a ball python.  She enjoys meeting new reptile friends and sharing information and experience.  If she could name the most important part of being a reptile keeper it would be thorough research and understanding of the species.  She operates a small-scale rescue out of her home called Sweet Dragons Rescue & Rehab and currently has 8 lizards in her care, all of which have suffered from improper feeding and husbandry.  The large amount of incorrect and misleading husbandry information on the internet creates the need for reptile rescue, and this is the reason Everything Reptile(.org) was created:  it was born from a strong desire to change the reptile pet trade for the better and to foster better reptile care practices for people through sharing accurate information.
