As we inched towards the launch of this site, one of the creators of Everything Reptile(.org) had to make the very difficult decision to say goodbye to one of her rescue bearded dragons, Alex.

Alex was rescued over six months ago from a case of extreme neglect. He had next to no mobility and a severe respiratory infection. His rescuer, Amanda and her husband Kim, spent hours every single day hand feeding him, showering him with love and affection, and doing mobility exercises to try to help get him moving again.

Alex had suffered from long-term neglect and despite all efforts his body could never fully recover. One of the main motivations to create this site was to help educate pet owners so that animals like Alex don't need to suffer because they have incorrect information or didn't know where to find reliable care sources.

With that in mind, we dedicate the launch of Everything Reptile(.org) to the gentle giant, Alex.

Alex, enjoy your time at the Rainbow Bridge and know that your mom is doing everything possible to ensure that no other reptile feels the pain you experienced.
